ATH's Timber Flooring Manufacturing Process
The process of making high quality solid wood flooring involves several steps, from sourcing the timber to the final product. Here’s the overview of the ATH stringent manufacturing process.
Step 1 – Selection of Quality Sawn Timber.
The process starts with selecting high-quality sawn timber, graded according to standards like Malaysia Grading Rules for Malaysian wood and NHLA guidelines for American lumber.
Step 2 – Air Dry
The rough-sawn planks are air-dried for 30 to 90 days, depending on species and dimensions, to reduce moisture content before kiln drying.
Step 3 – Kiln Dry
The planks are kiln-dried for 30 to 60 days to reduce moisture to 12%-14%, stabilizing the wood, preventing warping, and eliminating pests, which improves durability and workability.
Step 4 – Profiling
The planks are then milled and profiled for precise dimensions, ensuring smooth surfaces and proper installation.
Step 5 – Selection and QC
Our process includes stringent quality control, inspecting for defects and verifying moisture content and dimensions.
Step 6 – Packing And Warehousing
Finally, the planks are carefully packaged and stored in insured facilities, ensuring safe and immaculate delivery.
